The Zodiac is the band of constellations or star signs through which the sun passes as it moves around the sky over one year. There are twelve signs in the astrological zodiac but thirteen constellations in the astronomical zodiac.
This means that on average, the sun is in a different constellation each month. During the day, any stars in that area of sky are lost in the sun's glare. At night, the sun dips below the horizon (due to Earth's rotation) and we can see the stars and constellations.
The revolution of the Earth around the sun means that in winter, a winter constellation such as Orion is visible because the sun is far removed from that part of our sky. In summer, the sun is too close to Orion but far from the summer constellations.
