Other Patterns in the Sky Job’s Coffin

Job's coffin is a small group of stars in the constellation Delphinus, the Dolphin. The four stars making up the coffin are Sualocin, Rotanev, Gamma, and Delta Delphini. The origin of the name is a bit of a mystery, but may be a legacy from the time Delphinus was seen as a whale. Unlike Jonah, Job never came face to face with this leviathan, but it's included in a long list of challenges made by his god that include a number of references to the heavens: "Canst thou bind the sweet influence of the Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? . . . Canst thou draw out leviathan with a hook . . . ?"
