Total eclipses will not be with us forever.
Right now, the sun is 400 times the size of the moon and the moon is one four-hundredth as far from Earth, but this relationship won't last. The moon is slowly moving away from Earth at a rate of 3.8 centimeters (1.5 inches) per year.
So, do all the eclipse-watching you can when you still have the chance, because in a few million years, total solar eclipses will be no more!
