Use Starry Night to speed up the clock and see where the occulted star or planet will emerge from behind the moon.
As the moon orbits the earth, it passes through the constellations of the night sky. Occasionally the moon passes directly in front of a bright star or even a planet, causing an occultation. The planet or star may be covered by the moon for an hour or more, but will emerge from hiding in just a few seconds.
A solar eclipse is really just a special type of occultation, when the moon passes in front of our own sun.
