The Lunar Module undocked from the Command Service Module on February 5, 1971. A few problems threatened to prevent the crew from attempting a landing. First, a malfunctioning switch that would be used to abort the landing if necessary, failed in the abort position. A computer workaround was required to bypass the switch or the landing could not be attempted. The astronauts punched these commands into the computer before the descent.
During the powered descent, a landing radar problem nearly forced an abort. The crew flipped the circuit breaker for the radar off and then on, which solved the problem.
Antares landed on a gentle 7-degree slope with more than one minute of fuel remaining.
