With the completion of the Apollo 17 mission, the Apollo program ended. Mankind had left the Earth and taken its first steps out into the universe.

The Apollo astronauts spent 80 hours exploring the moon at six different spots. They just scratched the surface in trying to learn about our closest neighbor, the moon.
